Dear Sir:
Enclosed you will find the Accessibility Complaint Form I am filing against Walgreen’s plus pictures I have taken.
This store is a brand new store built after 1993. What I don’t understand, how the architect could have drawn up plans without accessibility open walks. The contractors and the inspectors of Hanover Park did not notice this mistake. My guess is the mistake was caught after the building was built and the cheapest and easiest way do open the ADA Accessibility Law is but putting the slab in front of the support post.
There is no way that a person in a wheel chair, automatic cart or chair, person walking with a cane or walker up this slab.
I have MS and walk with a 4-legged cane and sometimes use a wheel chair, there is no way I use a wheel chair and Walgreen’s is not accessible by any disabled person having to use an appliance to get around. How could they break the ADA Law on this new store?
I hope the architect, Hanover Park and Walgreen’s will have to pay a fine for breaking this law. When are the disabled persons going to have the respect that we have coming?
I would like to hear from you regarding this complaint.
Cordially,
