Mr. Jesse White
Secretary of State
213 State Capital Bldg.
Springfield, IL. 62706
Dear Mr. White:
The Unified Voice of Disabled America is writing for your help. Your help is needed for all the persons in Illinois that are handicapped.
Would you please send us the figures for the number of disability license plates and disability tags for the years 2002 and eight months of 2003?
We have been getting complaints from people with disabilities there are not enough parking spaces or there are not any handicap parking spaces at all.
Mr. White, there are two problems regarding the handicap spaces. The first one is the suburbs are not taking the responsibility to make sure every commercial or retail business has handicap parking spaces. The second is, not enough handicap parking spaces and these spaces are not always close to the entrances as they should be.
The present IL. Law for handicap parking spaces does not give us enough spaces. The Unified Voice of Disabled America is going to help the persons with disabilities live there lives as normal as everyone else.
Mr. White, persons with disabilities can help change the economy for IL. The one million five hundred thousand disabled persons can spend money just like everyone else. All we need is political cooperation. This is why I need this information that enable us to do things the same as persons without disabilities.
Thank you for your cooperation.
